Shopping Plans for After Christmas?

Posted on December 24th, 2007 in Rant by Bret

Based on comments posted here at Brothers in Blog and through casual conversation it seems that the majority of shoppers this Christmas were disappointed with the “Black Friday Deals” and anything thereafter. Does that mean that better savings await us during the post Christmas shopping season? Do you plan to hunt for deals at any of the major retail chains? Take the poll shown below and let us know.

I did venture outdoors the day after Christmas but not in search of sales. I figured since I couldn’t find anything that blew my socks off in the online sales flyers I wasn’t going to find much in the brick and mortars either.

Anyway, I stopped in my local Target around 1 p.m. and while the store was busy it was lighter than I expected. Only 2 people deep at the checkout registers and maybe 4 persons in line to return something. Perhaps I missed the rush, but by the looks of things today I figure everything will be back to normal by the weekend.

although I’m not a shopper, it’s always fun to watch newscasts of avid shoppers making black friday & the day after Christmas a tradition along with turkey & pumpkin pie.
seems most shoppers were getting extra quantity with their gift cards which is why they’re a wise choice for a gift.
most people exchanging or returning items will wait a few days to avoid crowds.
