What Blogs Do I Routinely Read and Recommend?

Posted on July 19th, 2007 in Rave by Bret
Darren Rowse at Prologger has started a series of posts to help rediscover your blogging groove. As for the posts here at Brothers In Blog, I don’t think we’ve lost our groove — yet. Nevertheless Darren’s suggestion is a great way to generate some new content and perhaps a little extra traffic. Today’s topic is to write a link post.

I don’t read nearly as many blogs as I should but those that I do read are read on a fairly consistent basis. Of course this statement begs the question, “What blogs does brother number two of Brothers In Blog read on a routine schedule?”

  • The Instigator Blog: Ben Yoskovitz (entrepreneur, opportunity seeker, and co-founder of Standout Jobs) blogs on a variety of business and blogging topics at his site. Ben always has practical useful suggestions and ideas.
  • Daily Blog Tips: Daniel Scocco writes daily (and sometimes more than once a day) on the topic of blogging. Daniel offers great tips, guidance, and useful finds all relevant to blogging. I’m always learning something new at this site.
  • David Airey: Graphic designer of the same name blogs daily on the topic of none other than graphic design. David does occasionally write a post about non-design related topics but usually stays focused on his area of expertise. David has a great eye for design and does a fantastic job at making his readers feel appreciated.

I read lots of other blogs routinely but the aforementioned three blogs are the ones I try to visit at least once a day. Why? Probably because the community these bloggers have created. They are very interactive with their readers and always manage to get a lively discussion going around whatever they have posted.

Above all these three bloggers live the old saying “treat others the way you want to be treated.” They are extremely polite even if they don’t agree with a posted comment. Stop by any one of the three blogs and see for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.

The day four writing assignment is out there; however, it didn’t appear until late morning. If that is what you were referring. Not really clear exactly what you meant with your comment. Sorry.

David at Pureblogging.com also recommended Daily Blog Tips…I’ll have to check it out more often. ;)

I haven’t heard of the other two. I’ll check them out. Thanks Bret!

Thanks for the links. I didn’t realise there were so many blogging tips blogs out there. I’m also doing Darren’s topics. It’s good fun.

Thanks for the mention, glad to have you as a regular reader (are you a regular commenter yet?!?!)

Daily Blog Tips and David Airey are both quality blogs. I’m pleased to know both authors.

Thanks for placing me amongst such great company! I subscribe to your other two recommendations too and always enjoy reading Ben and Daniel’s articles.

    All the best.

You’re Brother #2, I guess that makes me Brother #1. WOW…what an honor. Okay, since you got me into the world of blogging I’ve got the same pics as you but I also have ProBlogger Blog Tips. Of course, I have to give honorable mention to your own TechTraction, which did a WONDERFUL job of walking me through setting up a WAMP Server on my laptops. Then there’s the newcomer, Sisters in Blog, which my nieces are doing a great job on. Uncle Barry has never gotten into Harry Potter, but if I did Sisters in Blog is the place to turn right now.

CatherineL, yeah there are quite a few of blogs offering tips and guidance on blogging. You can also find lots of good blogs by just following the link attached to most comment authors. I usually try to follow those links of comments I found insightful, interesting, or entertaining.

Ben, you’re very welcome and yes, I do routinely comment on your blog but usually enter my TechTraction email and URL.

    David, you’re very welcome.

Thanks again to everyone who has joined the discussion and left a comment. I think this is the most active comment thread we have had at Brothers In Blog thus far.
