No Hilton for Paris

Posted on May 7th, 2007 in Rant by Barry

It may be slow coming but Paris Hilton’s “Get Out of Jail Free” card has finally expired. That’s right, Paris is heading to LA County lockup for 45 days for violating her probation agreement when she was caught driving on a suspended license. Although her attorney vows to appeal the judge’s decision, we might actually get to see how a makeup-free Paris looks in prison orange.

I’m not bothered by all the attention and favoritism afforded to celebrities such as Paris Hilton. Unlike most of these individuals, my faith in God doesn’t change because it’s no longer trendy; my marriage is a long-term commitment; my friends will be around even when I’m broke; and I’ll still have a job even if I put on weight and my hair starts to fall out. People like Paris at some point have to pay the price for their reckless lifestyles, and this short jail sentence is only the first payment for the hotel heiress.

Now, I have wondered whether or not Paris is a clueless as she makes out to be or is it just an act. I am now convinced that someone with her financial standing who goes out in public without a driver is an idiot. Paris, you might want to give Martha a call for some behind bars advice.

Bret’s 2-Cents:

Paris Hilton wearing an orange jumper in prison? Sounds like an episode from her E! Entertainment television series The Simple Life. As humorous as I find the whole situation I doubt we’ll actually get the chance to see the Hilton heiress marching off to the gallows in shackles. It just ain’t going to happen — she’s got too much money and everyone has their price.

I don’t think that Paris will have much to offer the inmates except make-up or cell phone tips. As much as she loves publicity, don’t think she will enjoy being in the cell spotlight. Will this teach her a lesson? NO. However, let’s hope it’s a lesson for others!

I heard last night on the news that Paris will be confirmed to a cell apart from the other prisoners for her own safety — nothing like ’special treatment” in prison. :-)

UPDATE!…While I was actually surprised to see Paris’ shadow darken the floor of a prison cell, I was not shocked to see her serve only 3 days of her 45-day sentence. While Paris’ attorney states a medical condition played a part in the move to house arrest, one news source says the condition is a “rash”. I guess those stainless steel jail block toilet seats were just too cold for Hilton’s hiney.

Well, according to what I just read, Paris was sent BACK to prison (gasp) to complete here sentence. Apparently she left the courtroom in hysterics calling for her mother. As a friend of mine often says, “You can’t make this stuff up.”

Paris is finally getting what she and so many other inmature celbs deserve. Though, I agree with Renee I don’t think she will be able to grasp the concept that what she did is bad!

Maybe Paris’s punishment needs a little more…perhaps they could force her to follow the Sheryl Crow “one square per visit” bathroom guidelines. That might help. :)
